A former ninja of Konohagakure, Orochimaru left and created his own ninja village, Otogakure, in hopes of destroying his former home. During his time in Konohagakure, Orochimaru distinguished himself as one of the village's most powerful ninja. However, his desire for power led him to obtain a means for immortality by transferring between different host bodies, including Uchiha Sasuke due to his powerful genetic heritage.

Although appearing to be similar to the Bunshin no Jutsu, the Kage Bunshin no Jutsu creates clones of the user that are actual copies rather than illusions. The user’s chakra is evenly distributed among every clone, each receiving an equal fraction of the user’s overall power. The clones are capable of performing their own techniques, but will usually disperse after one or two solid blows.

A ninja affiliated with Sunagakure, Gaara is the son of the village leader, the Fourth Kazekage. When he was only a fetus, his father attempted to turn him into a human weapon by placing a tailed beast into him, and he was ostracized by the Sunagakure villagers. As a result, Gaara became a ruthless killer, slaying others without remorse, and treating his siblings Kankuro and Temari with contempt.

Initially portrayed as aggressive, arrogant, and cruel, Momochi Zabuza was willing to become Gato’s thug in order to gain enough funds to start a second coup d’état on the Mizukage. He was also willing to kill anyone who stood in his path, including Gato once Zabuza had the money he needed. He used his own men as his pawns to fulfill his ambitions, including Haku whom he raised to be an efficient tool.

This is apparently Kenneth's first cosplay! He wrote in his email that he is living in Singapore, working as a personal trainer. I believe that shows quite well in this photo, am I right? Thanks again to Kenneth for sharing this with us!

Nara Shikamaru is a ninja known for his sense of apathy, as he forfeited his match to Temari due to his low chakra level. Despite this loss, he is the only ninja among his peers to be promoted as a Chunin, because the overseers of the exams were impressed by his intelligence and insight. Shikamaru was appointed the leader of a team tasked to prevent Uchiha Sasuke from defecting to the village of Otogakure. However, despite being able to defeat the Otogakure ninja barring their way, Sasuke managed to escape.

When she was only a child, Haruno Sakura was often bullied in the Academy for her large forehead. Sakura tried to use her bangs to hide her forehead, but this only fueled the other kids’ teasing because she appeared to be sensitive about it. Realizing this, Yamanaka Ino gave her a ribbon which she used to draw attention to her cuter features, helping Sakura overcome her insecurity.

It’s a little sad that the friendship didn’t last… sort of, anyway! We can all blame Sasuke for that! Thanks to Emilia for sending this in!

In Naruto: Shippuden, Temari acted as a liaison between Sunagakure and Konohagakure to help the two villages work together. With her deductive skills, she is able to determine her opponent’s strengths and weaknesses and typically uses her giant iron fan to blow away parts of the battlefield that may be advantageous to her enemy. However, she would prefer not to fight if she could help it as she values peace more than combat.

Might Guy is the leader of Team Guy who dedicates most of his time to only one of his students, Rock Lee. Because of this, Lee has modeled himself in his master’s image, matching his green jumpsuit and haircut. Lee also adopted many of his mannerisms, including his “My Rules” philosophy.

Aside from her ability heal others with proficiency and speed that surpasses most medical ninja with more experience, Haruno Sakura also has superhuman strength. A ninja team relies on their medical ninja to survive, and in order to do so, Sakura must both avoid opponents and keep them at bay during battle. By building up chakra in her fists and releasing it on contact, Sakura can reduce most obstacles with ease.

A former ninja of Sunagakure, “Sayori of the Red Sand” became an orphan in the hands of Hatake Sakumo, leaving him to his grandmother Chiyo’s care. Chiyo taught him the art of puppetry, a skill Sasori refined to fit his needs over the years. It is said that Sasori left Sunagakure and joined the Akatsuki because he lacked the love only parents can give.

His story makes me a little sad, but this cosplay is pretty cool nonetheless! Thanks to Czerina for sending this!

Just like Kakashi, cosplayer Mimi has also decided to try and make out what Gaara would look like if he used Naruto’s Sexy no Jutsu technique.

Her photos are quite impressive! I like how we get to see a little of that “愛”symbol on her forehead. Perhaps I need to make a “genderbent” section on this blog for cosplays like this? Thanks again to Mimi for sharing this!

Tenten is the only female member of Team Guy, and she longs to prove that a female ninja can be just as skilled as any male ninja. Of all of the protagonists in the series, Tenten receives the least amount of screen time. However, series creator Kishimoto Masashi favors her design more than any other female characters he created. Her Japanese Seiyuu is Tamura Yukari and her English voice actor is Danielle Judovits.

Inspired by Naruto's confidence and determination, Hinata's infatuation over him affects her training in a good way as she tries her best to win his attention by continually improving her skills and helping him out. While Hinata is hesitant to openly admit her feelings for him, almost everyone else knows about it. In Shippuden, she finally confesses her love to Naruto while protecting him from Pain, but there has been no follow up to her confession as of yet.

Uchiha Itachi has a dispassionate appearance, rarely showing his emotions and even managing to keep his composure when surprised or irritated. However, he is consistently hostile towards his brother Sasuke, to the point of breaking Sasuke's wrist and ridiculing him for being weak on their first encounter after the destruction of the Uchiha village. Itachi’s mask proved to be nothing more than a facade, as he merely wished for Sasuke’s safety and used an evil persona to strengthen Sasuke’s resolution to kill him.

Would it not have been better if they got along and the war never occurred? I think they would have become fine ninjas together. Thanks to Gagi for sending this!
