Cosplay Holic

On the 4th of December 2011, Nico Nico, in cooperation with Japan’s largest cosplay community website “Cure”, came together to introduce the world to Japanese Cosplay Culture.

Niconico’s special stage replicated each cosplayer’s world in detail using 360 degree LED screens accompanied by powerful sound systems! Top cosplayers from popular anime series including Tiger and Bunny, Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica, Final Fantasy, Touhou Project, and even Vocaloid made their appearances on stage!

If you missed the event like I did, you can download the show through torrent. If you’re a cosplay fan, this is a rare chance for you to see your favorite cosplayers moving and without photoshop! Even Kipi made a special appearance dressed as Hatsune Miku!

Thanks to Marcello for letting me know about this! For now, I will leave you with a video of Danceroid members Ikura, Aikawa Kozue, Yuzuki, and Maam performing Maji Love 1000% from Uta no Prince-sama!

Because Kipi has a lot of fans, this also means that there will be a lot of people who think she's “just another photoshop princess”. Even though I already posted a video of her before, here is another one made by amateur cameraman, Elpheal.

One of Yumemiya Arika’s roommates and a good friend of Nina Wong’s, Estin Ho is a sweet, friendly, and often quiet girl who is the 17th Coral in her class. Hailing from the country of Annan, her parents are known to be very wealthy; enough to pay her hefty tuition fees. She and Irina Woods serve as Higurashi Akane’s room attendants.

In Black Rock Shooter The Game, Black Rock Shooter is one of the last residents on dead Earth. She joined the last stand of the remaining forces of Earth to fight against beings called “The Seven Apostles”. Black Rock Shooter is said to be the ultimate weapon, and Earth’s only hope from utter destruction.

Cute cosplay! She kind of looks like Kipi, but I’m not sure. Can anyone verify this? Thanks to Haku for sending this in!

EDIT: Ok guys, you win! I hang my head in shame for not being 100% (if not 200%) sure this is Kipi!

The compassionate older half-sister to Ayane, Kasumi is a highly skilled kunochi fighter who often expresses a desire to avoid confrontation. She values her family and seeks to return home in peace once she avenges her brother Hayate. Kasumi doesn’t like seeing people suffer at the hands of her skills and often shows mercy even to her enemies.

And now for something I’m sure someone will be able to figure because I’ve given up looking for the answer.

I thought Kipi was cosplaying a character from Mai Otome or something, but it appears I’m wrong. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen this character before though; maybe I even featured her already, but I’m really not sure.

Lenalee’s anti-akuma weapon, the Dark Boots, take the form of black, thigh-high boots that give her the ability to run at high speeds, walk on water, and use sound waves as footholds. They are made up of Lenalee’s blood and will repair themselves as long as her has blood inside her body. When the Boots are in their dormant state, however, they form blood-red anklets, one on each of her ankles.

First introduced in episode 8 with the arrival of the Eva Unit 02, Soryu Asuka Langley is shown maintaining a high synchronization ratio and exceptional skills as an Eva pilot. With the battle against the Angel Gaghiel, Asuka proved to be very aggressive and confident in battle. However, when she was first defeated in the fight against Zeruel, Asuka’s self-confidence begins to dwindle, affecting her effectiveness as a pilot.

Kipi makes such a cute Asuka that I had to feature her again. But I’m not sure if this breaks any of blogger’s rules in blogging, so please let me know otherwise so I can delete this just in case!

Born on the 29th of March, Yuki Cross is the adoptive daughter of the Headmaster of Cross Academy, Kaien Cross. She is described to be kind, caring, and cheerful, despite being naive and careless. Yuki is a poor student as she is the academy’s Guardian at night and a full time student during the day, giving her very little time for studying and sleeping.

I finally got to see Kipi’s version of Yuki! I think it suits her very well, and her pose looks so playful! Thanks to Milliard for sending this!

Manaka is a very sheltered daughter of Doctor Takane, a physician known to possess advanced levels in both judo and kendo. She’s had a proper upbringing and excels both in her studies and tennis. Although she is a vision of perfection to most people, she lacks experience in what is considered to be common skills such as ordering and eating a hamburger combo, going out with friends, and watching TV.

Beautiful Manaka by Kipi! She looks absolutely stunning as the “unattainable goal” and I’d bet some of her fans consider her to be very similar to Manaka too! Thanks to Yuri for suggesting this!

Fiancée of Mizuhara Ryo, Masuda Shizuka is a 10th grader who used her “political power” to transfer herself into the same class as Ryo’s. Shizuka mostly became Ryo’s fiancée because of the Japanese government’s secret childbirth program, but it was later revealed that her grandfather also played a role in the matter. It was fortunate, however, that Shizuka really did fall in love with Ryo as he did with her.
